Drainage and Surgical Extraction Review
What is Drainage and Surgical Extraction?
There are some large zits that do not actually respond to medication of any kind, both topical or internal. These are extreme cases and may require surgical extraction or drainage. They basically amount to cysts on your skin rather than the zits they would appear to be. The surgery is known as "acne surgery." It reduces extreme pain which can be associated with these cysts, and it decreases likelihood of scarring. Patients who try to do this by themselves are unqualified and may cause infection, scarring, or a worsening of these cysts. These cysts are not the type of acne that you would usually extract using heated pads, disinfected tools, or careful planning. They can only really be treated with acne surgery. Dermatologists use sterile conditions and they are highly trained in the right and most effective techniques.
