What is Neostrata?

Neostrata is an entire skincare company created by Dr Van Scott and a Dr Yu. And they are the leader in AHA treatments. They promise their vast line of products will purify skin and improve your complexion in general. The active ingredient in their wash is triclosan.

What Ingredients are in Neostrata?

Triclosan is a broad spectrum antibacterial and antifungal. But scientists worry that this particular ingredient could be combined with chlorine in tap water to form chloroform gas. When washing your face, this means that you get some unpleasant side effects. It can treat certain cases of acne, but not others, and none of the other ingredients found in their scrub actually have any application to acne treatment.

What Else Should I Know about Neostrata?

Neostrata is certainly original. It uses one ingredient not really found in other treatments. But other companies may not use it, frankly because of its interaction with chlorine and the fact that it has not actually been proven to have any application to acne treatment. Neostrata is an unsure acne treatment, and most likely, it will not work. We wouldn't recommend it either way.
